This course covers planning and engineering analysis for smart distribution systems, including modeling, simulation and advanced studies for integration of distributed energy resources (DER), such as distributed generation and distributed energy storage. In addition, it focuses on microgrids and smart distribution systems. Instruction revolves around planning tools, engineering analyses (protection, volt-VAR, automation and control) and methodologies designed to accommodate distributed energy resources and microgrid technologies. Instructors review real-life distribution planning case studies for integration of these technologies on distribution systems They also focus on emerging technologies and business, regulatory and policy trends for integration of DER and microgrids in smart distribution systems.
Who Should Attend this Course:
Distribution operations personnel and operations managers
